Sunday, March 29th

This week our community sadly had to cancel our usual evening worship, just as many other churches in Hong Kong have already done. Faced with a challenge like a highly-infectious disease, even the smallest congregations are at risk. But we meet this challenge with continued fellowship and compassion online. Besides our daily devotionals, we plan to post other worship materials as well.

For today’s devotional, we first invite you to visit the Facebook page of our sister church, KUC. They have also had to suspend gathered worship, but continue to live broadcast their services. You may find today’s program here, and their devotional reflection for the week should be uploaded shortly.

Second, we invite you to read Pope Francis’ special address from Friday. An Urbi et Orbi (“to the city and the world”) is given only on special or solemn occasions like the pandemic we are facing now. In his address, the Pope preaches on Jesus’ calming of the storm (Mark 4:35-41), challenging us to be not afraid but to forge stronger loving bonds during times of crisis.
