Waiting is a big part of Lent, but now it seems we will be waiting long past Easter for deliverance. Wait for the “curve to flatten”, wait a year to go on vacation, wait before you see your loved one…these are all things we are asked to do now. Our normal routine has been interrupted in an unprecedented way.

Amidst all this, it is easy to feel hopeless and stuck, as if we were waiting for a future that is lost. Perhaps we have brought it on ourselves. Perhaps we do not deserve God’s grace and salvation. But our friends at Kobe Union Church remind us, in today’s meditation on Psalm 130, that we are God’s beloved!
